Pumpkin

Kalabasa

In 1987, East-West Seed achieved a breeding breakthrough in tropical pumpkin (calabaza in Spanish) after three years of trials at Hortanova Farm in the Philippines. That first hybrid, named Suprema, yielded large crops of smooth-skinned, orange-fleshed fruit weighing 4.0 kg. It remains the Philippine's market leader for more than 2 decades and has also been grown widely in other countries in Asia, Latin America and Africa.
