“I like working for East-West Seed because its sense of purpose to serve farmers is beyond and above me. I remember one of my first projects where I needed to throw out of the window the basic finance concept of extending payment terms so that we could pay our farmer-partners earlier. Looking at the farmers’ smiles when they learned about it, I knew that the company's heart is in the right place.”
East-West Seed was an everyday sight for Julius back when he was still a young student in Bulacan.
In 2002, he moved to Manila for university and then eventually for work. However, the desire to go back to serve his hometown never left him. After more than a decade in Manila, the chance to work for East-West Seed and fulfill his long-time desire came.
“The opportunity to give back to the community what I learned when I was away, while still providing me the chance to grow personally and professionally, was simply too hard to resist - talk about perfect timing and coming full circle,” he shared.
Julius joined East-West Seed in 2018 to lead the Finance team. He aims to drive efficiencies and improve effectiveness in the company’s processes, and to lead Finance from a back-end support team to becoming a business partner-oriented function.
